Booking & pricing {#booking-pricing}
How do I book?
Use the instant quote tool. Enter the two postcodes, the bike’s make and engine size, declared value and any modifiers (non-runner, urgent, enclosed-only). The system shows your scheduled collection day, the firm price and the available off-schedule options. Pay via Stripe at checkout and the booking is confirmed.
Why is Bladespeed online-booking-only?
Because phone tag and contact forms drive up costs that ultimately land in your price. The instant quote tool does the work that would otherwise need a human picking up — and it does it 24/7, gives you a firm number, and means we can run the operation lean. Email support exists for anything the calculator can’t handle.
Is the price on the quote tool the final price?
Yes — it’s the firm price for the configuration you entered. The only things that move it are options you change yourself (off-schedule day, modifiers, declared value). Surcharges are never bolted on after booking; what you see at checkout is what you pay.
What does the price depend on?
Five things: a fixed base, distance in road miles (tiered), engine-size band, declared-value insurance, and any modifiers you choose (non-runner, urgent, enclosed-only, second bike). Picking an off-schedule day applies a transparent surcharge before checkout.
Do you ever quote manually?
Yes — for routes the instant tool flags as exceptions (Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, far-north Highlands, island ferry legs) and for multi-bike trade jobs not yet on a trade account. Email hello@bladespeed.co.uk with addresses and bikes.
Can I get a quote without committing?
Yes. The quote tool gives you a firm price without taking payment until you choose to book. No deposit to look, no marketing emails just because you priced a job.
How long is a quote valid?
Quotes hold for 7 days from when you generate them. After that, re-run the tool — most prices will be identical, but published rates can move.
Do you discount for multiple bikes?
Yes — there’s a second-bike modifier on the quote tool that drops the per-bike cost when two bikes are on the same job. Trade customers get larger volume tiers via a dealer account.
Transport {#transport}
How long does motorbike transport take across the UK?
Most jobs complete within 7–10 days of booking, typically. Bladespeed runs scheduled weekly routes; collection happens on your postcode’s scheduled day, delivery follows on the next leg. Off-schedule and urgent slots are available at a transparent surcharge if you need it sooner.
What types of bike can Bladespeed transport?
Every type — sportsbikes, adventure bikes, tourers, cruisers, nakeds, classics, scooters, off-road, track bikes, project bikes and non-runners. Trikes and sidecar outfits are carried by arrangement; send dimensions when you quote.
How are bikes secured during transport?
Each bike sits in a front-wheel chock and is held with soft-loop tie-down straps anchored to cleated rails. Loops attach to the handlebars and rear subframe — never the fairings. Padding sits between any potential contact points. Bikes never touch each other.
Are bikes transported in an enclosed van?
Yes. Enclosed dry vans only. Your bike never sees a drop of rain, road dirt or weather between collection and delivery. Indoor overnight stops at the Uffington base for routes that need them.
Can you transport a non-runner?
Yes. Vans carry winches and loading ramps suitable for non-runners, project bikes and seized engines. Tick the non-runner modifier when you book so the right kit is on the van for your collection.
Can you transport more than one bike at a time?
Yes. The second-bike modifier on the quote tool drops the per-bike cost. Trade customers should open a dealer account for volume-tiered pricing.
Can you carry a track bike with no road furniture?
Yes — race-prepped track bikes are routine. Strip-out, no lights, race fairings: no issue. Tell us at booking that it’s non-road-legal so the loading plan accounts for it.
Do you transport modified or lowered bikes?
Yes. Lowered sports, raised ADVs, bar-end mirrors that catch, custom seats — all carried regularly. Flag any unusual dimensions at booking.
Can you collect from a flat with no parking?
In most cases yes, but tight access affects the booking. Flag access notes at quote time — steep drives, locked gates, pedestrianised streets, narrow lanes — and we’ll plan around it.
Do you do same-day or urgent runs?
Same-day is rare on a scheduled network. Urgent off-schedule slots are usually possible at a transparent surcharge — the tool shows what’s available for your postcodes. For genuine emergencies, email hello@bladespeed.co.uk.
Storage {#storage}
How secure is Bladespeed motorbike storage?
The Uffington unit is indoor, on a hard floor, alarmed and CCTV-monitored, with locked external doors. The building and our liability are covered by our commercial insurance. Your bike should remain on your own policy — laid-up cover is usually inexpensive.
How much does storage cost?
£60 per 4 weeks per bike, billed via Stripe Subscription. The first 4 weeks are collected at booking; weeks 5 onwards bill automatically every 4 weeks until you cancel.
Do you offer winter motorbike storage?
Yes — November to March is the busiest stretch. Most winter customers book transport collection in early November and re-delivery on the first dry weekend in spring. Trickle-charging is a recommended add-on for that length of stay.
Can I access my bike during storage?
Yes — by appointment, during office hours (Mon–Fri 8am–6pm, Sat 9am–1pm). Book a visit slot through the customer dashboard or by email and the bike will be out and ready when you arrive.
Is the storage heated?
Indoor and dehumidified, not actively heated. The combination is what matters for bikes — humidity is the enemy of chrome and aluminium, not winter air temperature.
Do you charge the battery while my bike is stored?
Trickle-charging is an add-on, strongly recommended for anything over a month. The bike starts first time on collection day.
Can you do basic checks before I collect?
Yes — tyre pressures, fluid levels and a visual once-over are available as a pre-ride check add-on. Anything beyond that we’ll point you at a local specialist.
Can Bladespeed collect and re-deliver my stored bike?
Yes — that’s the standard setup. The Transport service handles the collection and the re-delivery; storage is the bit in the middle.
Do I have to commit to a minimum term?
The first 4 weeks are paid upfront at booking. After that you’re billed every 4 weeks via Stripe Subscription. Cancel anytime with one collection-day cycle of notice and we’ll arrange the re-delivery.
Dealer delivery {#dealer-delivery}
What counts as a “unit” for trade-account volume pricing?
One motorbike on one booking, regardless of engine size. A van carrying three bikes for the same account on the same job counts as three units. Storage, where added, is billed separately on the storage rate.
What’s the trade billing cycle?
Bookings accumulate over the calendar month. A consolidated invoice issues on the 1st of the following month, payable on 30-day terms by default. Longer terms by application for established accounts.
Do you offer credit terms?
Standard 30-day terms are available without formal credit checks for incorporated UK businesses. Longer terms or higher exposures need a brief credit application.
Is there a minimum monthly commitment?
No fixed minimum on the entry Bronze tier — but tier discounts step up with volume, so very low-volume accounts will look similar to a B2C booking. Silver and Gold tiers require sustained monthly volume to qualify.
Which UK areas do you cover for trade accounts?
All of mainland UK — England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and parts of the Highlands & Islands beyond Inverness are by arrangement on a separate quote. Trade accounts get the same coverage as the B2C service.
Can multiple staff use one trade account?
Yes. Multi-user with role-based access — admins, schedulers and view-only. Activity is attributed to the user who placed each booking.
Do you offer branded paperwork or vehicle livery?
Standard handover paperwork carries the Bladespeed name. We don’t run white-label vehicles. We do brief drivers on account-specific handover style where requested (e.g. customer not to be told the dealer’s stock location).
Can we book auction collections through the trade account?
Yes — auction pickups are routine. Provide the paid invoice and the auction’s collection window through the dashboard.
Coverage & scheduling {#coverage-scheduling}
What areas does Bladespeed cover?
All of mainland UK — England, Scotland and Wales. Regional hubs at London, Oxford and Bristol sit on the weekly routes. Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and parts of the Highlands & Islands beyond Inverness are by arrangement on a separate quote.
How does the one-day-per-postcode schedule work?
Every mainland UK postcode is assigned a scheduled collection day on the Bladespeed route network. The booking funnel shows your postcode’s day when you enter the address. Picking that day gets you the lowest published rate; picking another day applies a transparent off-schedule surcharge.
Why one day per postcode rather than any day?
Scheduling one day per postcode keeps the van full and the route tight, which keeps the published rate lower than ad-hoc couriers. Off-schedule days are bookable when you need them; you just see the cost up front rather than after.
What if my postcode falls on the same day every week — what if I’m not there?
Two options: book the next available cycle (one week later), or pay the off-schedule surcharge for a different day. The tool shows both options at checkout so you choose.
Can I get to the Western Isles, Orkney or Shetland?
By arrangement. The standard offer is collection or delivery to the relevant mainland ferry terminal — you handle the ferry leg. We can quote the full route including the ferry on request, but it routes as a manual quote rather than the instant tool.
Can I get to Northern Ireland or the Isle of Man?
By arrangement. Email hello@bladespeed.co.uk with origin and destination addresses and we’ll come back with a route plan and price.
Do you go to the Highlands?
Yes — Inverness and the surrounding mainland Highlands are on the weekly route. Points further north (Thurso, Wick, the north coast) need a week or two of notice but are absolutely covered.
Insurance & damage {#insurance-damage}
Are you insured?
Yes. Goods-in-transit insurance covers every motorbike on every job. Premises insurance covers bikes at the Uffington storage unit and the building. Certificates of cover available on request.
What happens if the bike is damaged in transit?
Damage is rare given the loading method, but if it happens: photos at both ends document the condition difference. The damage is logged at the door with the receiving party and flagged to you within one hour. The claim is handled through our goods-in-transit insurer and typically resolved within seven working days.
Do I need to insure the bike myself during transport?
No. Goods-in-transit cover applies while the bike is in our possession. Your road insurance doesn’t need to be active.
Do I need to insure my bike during storage?
Yes — your bike should remain on your own policy while in storage. Laid-up cover is the cheapest option for a stored bike and is widely available from UK motorcycle insurers. Our policy covers the building, our liability and the storage operation — but not the bike itself.
What declared value should I put on the booking?
The realistic market value of the bike. The declared value sets the insurance premium and the maximum payout in the event of a claim. Undervaluing the bike to save on the premium leaves you under-insured.
Do you take photos of the bike?
Yes — full photo set at collection and at delivery, sent to the customer (and to any receiving party named on the booking) by email and stored in the customer dashboard.
Payment & cancellation {#payment-cancellation}
How do I pay?
Stripe at checkout — card or supported wallet. Trade accounts are invoiced monthly rather than charged at checkout.
Do you take cash?
No. Stripe at checkout for B2C; monthly invoicing for trade accounts. This isn’t a 1990s removal firm.
What’s the cancellation policy?
Cancellation terms are shown at checkout before payment. As a rule: cancellations more than 5 working days before collection are refundable minus the payment processing fee; cancellations within 5 days incur a partial charge to cover route-planning costs; cancellations on or after the scheduled collection day aren’t refundable.
What if I need to reschedule?
Rescheduling more than 48 hours before collection is free — use the dashboard. Within 48 hours, a small admin fee applies. Same-day reschedules count as a cancellation.
What’s the storage cancellation policy?
Cancel anytime with one collection-day cycle of notice — we arrange the re-delivery on the next route through your postcode. No penalty for cancelling.
What if you can’t collect — driver issue, weather, breakdown?
If we miss a collection on our side, you get a free reschedule to the next available slot and a refund of any off-schedule surcharge you paid. If a vehicle issue means we have to substitute equipment, we still hold to the booked price.
What if the receiver isn’t at the delivery address?
The first failed delivery on our side is at our cost — we rebook to the next scheduled day for that postcode. Subsequent failed deliveries where the issue is on the receiver’s side incur an off-schedule rebook surcharge.
Do you store payment cards?
No. Stripe holds the payment method, not us. We can’t see your full card details and don’t want to. Trade-account billing details are held by Stripe in the same way.
