How does Bladespeed transport motorbikes across the UK?
Bladespeed runs scheduled weekly routes from Uffington, Oxfordshire (SN7 7QD), reaching every mainland postcode in England, Scotland and Wales. You book online, the system shows your postcode’s collection day, we pick the bike up in an enclosed dry van using a front-wheel chock and soft loops, and we hand over with photos at both ends.
The four steps in detail:
- Quote and book online. Enter the two postcodes, bike make and engine size, declared value and any modifiers (non-runner, urgent, enclosed-only). The price is firm before you reach checkout.
- See your day. The booking funnel shows the scheduled collection day for your pickup postcode, plus the cost-saving off-schedule alternatives if you need something sooner.
- Pickup. Driver arrives in the agreed window, photographs the bike all the way round, loads with front-wheel chock and soft loops to bars and rear subframe, never over fairings.
- Delivery. Bike travels in an enclosed dry van with indoor overnight stops where required. Handover photos sent on completion, signed for at the door.
Where Bladespeed operates
We cover every mainland UK postcode. Three regional hubs sit on our weekly routes: London for the South-East and East Anglia, Oxford for the Midlands and the South, Bristol for the South-West and Wales. From there we run the M1, M6, A1 and M74 corridors north to Scotland and the M4 west into Wales.
| Country | Common cities | Coverage page | | — | — | — | | England | London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield | England coverage → | | Scotland | Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, Stirling, Inverness, Perth | Scotland coverage → | | Wales | Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Wrexham, Bangor, Aberystwyth | Wales coverage → |
Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and parts of the Highlands & Islands beyond Inverness are by arrangement on a separate quote.
Why does Bladespeed run one collection day per postcode?
Because it keeps your price down. One scheduled day per postcode means the van stays full, the miles stay tight, and your bike rides next to other bikes going the same way rather than rattling around an empty van. You see your day during booking. Need it sooner? Choose an off-schedule day at checkout — the surcharge is shown before you commit, never bolted on after.
The trade-off is honest:
- Scheduled day = lowest published rate.
- Off-schedule day = surcharge applied (visible in the quote), still cheaper than a same-day courier on most routes.
- Urgent timed runs = available on request, priced accordingly.
