Who is motorbike transport for?
Bladespeed transport is built for the rider who’d rather not spend a Saturday in someone else’s van. The four most common reasons people book us:
Private buyers
You’ve bought a bike on Auto Trader, eBay or Facebook Marketplace, and it’s 250 miles away. We collect from the seller, document the bike with a full photo set the moment we load it, and deliver to your door. You stay home; the bike comes to you.
Private sellers
You’ve sold a bike to someone in Edinburgh and you live in Plymouth. They don’t want to come down, you don’t want to ride it up. Book us as the middle leg. We photograph at collection, the buyer sees the bike before payment changes hands if that’s how you’ve agreed it, and we drop it off intact.
Riders relocating
House move, new job, posting abroad, garage downsize. Move the bike with us while the removals firm handles the sofa. Add storage to bridge the gap between leaving one address and getting keys to the next.
Track-day and race riders
We collect Friday, deliver to the paddock for the morning session, return on Sunday or Monday. No hired van, no overnight in a Travelodge near Donington.
We also carry for workshops returning finished restorations, auction houses fulfilling paid invoices, and dealers using us for one-off retail moves outside of their trade account.
How does Bladespeed’s weekly UK transport service work?
Every mainland UK postcode is assigned a scheduled collection day on the Bladespeed route map. When you book, the funnel shows your postcode’s day, plus the cost of an off-schedule day if you need it sooner. Once you confirm, we collect in an enclosed dry van, load with a front-wheel chock and soft loops to bars and rear subframe, transport with indoor overnight stops where required, and hand over with photos at both ends.
The four-step process:
- Get an instant quote. The calculator takes the two postcodes, your bike’s engine size, declared value and any modifiers (non-runner, urgent, enclosed-only, second bike). Price is firm before you reach the payment screen.
- Pick a day. Your postcode’s scheduled collection day is shown by default. Off-schedule days are bookable at a transparent surcharge — the difference is visible before you choose.
- Collection. Driver arrives in the agreed window, photographs the bike all the way round, loads in the van. Soft loops over the bars and rear subframe. Never a strap across a fairing.
- Delivery. Bike travels in the enclosed dry van. Long routes get an indoor overnight stop at the Uffington base. Receiver gets a delivery window the day before. Handover photos sent on completion.
What does Bladespeed transport?
Every type of motorbike, with the loading method adapted to the bike. The care doesn’t change, the contact points do.
- Sportsbikes — fairings padded, soft loops on the bars and subframe, never around the plastic. Race-fairing and track-prepped sports treated the same way.
- Adventure bikes and tourers — top-heavy GS, Multistrada, Tiger, Africa Twin, FJR. Pannier mounts protected, screen tied or removed depending on bike.
- Nakeds — Z series, Streetfighter, MT, Monster. Straightforward to load, fastest to turn around.
- Cruisers — long-wheelbase Harleys, Indians, big Hondas. Chrome wrapped at contact points.
- Classics and unrestored projects — delicate paint and original chrome treated like glass. We’ll wrap rather than risk a strap mark.
- Scooters and small bikes — 50cc, 125cc, L-plate bikes, mopeds.
- Off-road and track bikes — no road furniture, race fuel emptied if applicable, no problem.
- Non-runners and project bikes — winched in, blocked up, secured. Mention the bike’s condition at booking so the right loading kit is on the van.
- Trikes and sidecar outfits — by arrangement. Send dimensions when you quote.
We don’t carry bikes that are leaking fuel, have damaged tanks beyond a safe to-transport state, or have unsecured loose parts that can’t be removed or strapped down.

The whole of mainland UK. Three regional hubs sit on the weekly route network:
- London hub — every borough, plus the wider South-East: Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire.
- Oxford hub — Oxfordshire, the Midlands, the South Coast, the East: Birmingham, Coventry, Northampton, Reading, Southampton, Cambridge.
- Bristol hub — South-West, South Wales, the Cotswolds: Bath, Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, Exeter, Plymouth.
From these hubs we run northbound on the M1, M6, A1 and M74 to Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, and westbound on the M4 into Cardiff, Swansea and mid Wales.

What does motorbike transport cost?
Bladespeed quotes are built from five things: a fixed base, distance billed in tiers, an engine-size band, declared-value insurance, and any modifiers you choose. There’s no hidden lookup table — the instant quote tool shows you exactly what each line contributes.
What affects the price
- Distance between pickup and drop-off, in road miles. Per-mile rate steps down on longer runs.
- Engine size band in cc. Bigger bikes need more padding and take longer to load.
- Declared value — sets the insurance premium on the booking.
- Modifiers you choose — non-runner (winch required), urgent (off-schedule slot), enclosed-only (no shared van), and a second-bike discount if you’re booking two on the same job.
- Off-schedule day surcharge — applied if you pick a day other than your postcode’s scheduled day. The surcharge is visible before you commit, never bolted on after.

Common questions about UK motorbike transport
How long does motorbike transport take across the UK? Most jobs land within 7–10 days of booking because Bladespeed runs a weekly nationwide schedule. The collection day is set by your postcode; the delivery follows on the next leg of the route. Urgent timed runs are available on request at a transparent uplift.
Can you transport a non-runner? Yes. The vans carry winches and loading ramps suitable for non-runners, project bikes and seized engines. Tick the non-runner modifier when you book so the right kit is on the van for your collection.
How are bikes secured inside the van? Each bike sits in a front-wheel chock and is held with soft-loop tie-downs anchored to cleated rails. Loops attach to the handlebars and rear subframe — never the fairings. Padding sits between any potential contact points. Bikes never touch each other.
Do you transport more than one bike at a time? Yes. Multiple bikes per booking attract a second-bike discount and reduce the per-bike cost. Trade customers see the most benefit; the dedicated trade account is on the dealer delivery page.
What if the bike is damaged in transit? Goods-in-transit insurance covers every booking. Damage is rare given the loading method, but if it happens the claim is handled straightforwardly — photos at both ends mean condition is documented from the start.
Do you collect from auctions? Yes — BCA, Copart, dealer trade events and main-dealer sales rooms are routine. Provide the paid invoice and the auction’s collection window when you book.
Can you deliver to a flat without parking? In most cases yes, but tight access affects the booking. Flag any access notes at quote time — steep drives, locked gates, pedestrianised streets, narrow lanes — and we’ll plan around it.

Do you transport modified or track bikes? Yes. Lowered, raised, race-fairing, no-lights — all carried regularly. Tell us at booking if the bike is non-road-legal so we adjust the loading plan.
Do you require a deposit? Bookings are paid in full at checkout via Stripe. Cancellation terms are shown before payment and depend on how close to the collection day you cancel.
