Why store with Bladespeed?

Most “motorbike storage” you find online is a self-storage container with a draughty roller door and a damp concrete floor. Bladespeed isn’t that. The unit was set up for bikes specifically. Here’s what that means in practice:

  • Indoor and dry. Hard floor, sealed roof, no condensation issues. Bikes aren’t exposed to weather between visits.
  • Dehumidified. Humidity monitored and managed so chrome doesn’t pit and aluminium doesn’t oxidise over a long stretch.
  • Alarmed and CCTV-monitored. External doors locked, alarm armed when unstaffed, cameras covering the bays.
  • Insured premises. The building, our liability and the storage operation are covered by our commercial policy. Your bike should remain on your own policy — laid-up cover is usually inexpensive and we can point you at a starting place.
  • Optional trickle-charging. Add-on for anything stored over a month. Bike starts first time on collection day.
  • Front-wheel chock on every bay. Bikes stand upright, never on the sidestand for months on end.
  • Pre-ride checks on request. Tyre pressures, fluids and a visual once-over before you collect, charged as a small extra.

Who uses Bladespeed motorbike storage?

The customer mix is broader than you’d think. The common thread is that home garage space is short, or the bike needs better conditions than a driveway can offer.

Commuters putting bikes away for winter

November to March on a damp drive doesn’t do a bike any favours. Most commuter customers book a transport collection in early November and a delivery back to them on the first dry weekend in March.

Collectors with rare or classic bikes

Original-paint classics, rare imports, low-mileage period bikes — these don’t belong on a driveway under a cover. Dehumidified indoor storage with no foot traffic is what they need.

Dealers needing overflow storage

Stock you’ve bought but don’t have showroom space for yet. We can collect on a trade account, store, and return units to your showroom on demand.

Touring riders between trips

Two trips a year and a small flat with no garage. Park it with us between continental runs.

Military and overseas postings

Three-year posting abroad, can’t take the bike. We collect, store the whole stretch, return it whenever you’re back. Trickle-charging is essential here.

Project builds in progress

A bike at the frame-and-tank stage that needs to live somewhere safe while the workshop runs through the queue. Tell us at booking that it’s mid-build so we don’t try to wheel it.

Pre-sale storage

Selling your bike but can’t keep it at home for viewings? Store it with us. We can transport it to the buyer once the deal closes, so the whole sale runs through a single account.

How does Bladespeed motorbike storage work?

You book a bay online, we run a Bladespeed Transport collection from your address on your postcode’s scheduled day, the bike arrives at Uffington and goes onto a chock in a numbered bay, and we re-deliver it to wherever you want when you’re ready to take it back. You’re billed every 4 weeks via Stripe Subscription so you only pay for time actually used.

The four steps:

  1. Reserve a bay online. Tell the quote tool that you want storage, give us the bike, declared value and rough date range. Price for collection + first 4 weeks is shown firmly before checkout.
  2. We collect. The Transport service runs to your postcode on its scheduled day. The bike rides in an enclosed dry van, soft loops to bars and subframe.
  3. We store. Bike goes on a numbered bay on a hard floor, in a chock, with the front wheel facing out for easy re-deliveries. Trickle-charger fitted if you ordered it. Photos sent of the bay.
  4. We re-deliver. Tell us where and when via the customer dashboard. We slot it into the next route through your postcode and the bike arrives signed for, photos at both ends.

Access during storage

Yes — by appointment. Book a visit through the dashboard or email; we’ll have the bike out and ready for the time you arrive. Visits are during office hours (Mon–Fri 8am–6pm, Sat 9am–1pm). Doing it by appointment rather than 24/7 walk-in is what keeps the unit insurable and your bike actually secure.

How much does motorbike storage cost?

£60 per 4 weeks, billed via Stripe Subscription. The first 4 weeks are collected at booking; weeks 5 onwards are billed automatically every 4 weeks until you cancel. Cancel anytime with notice of one collection-day cycle and we’ll arrange the re-delivery on the next route through your postcode.

The £60 includes:

  • A dedicated bay in the indoor unit.
  • Standard alarmed, CCTV-monitored, dehumidified conditions.
  • Visit access by appointment during office hours.

Optional add-ons (priced separately, transparently shown at booking):

  • Trickle-charging — recommended for anything over a month.
  • Pre-MOT collection — we collect from us, take the bike to MOT and return it to the bay.
  • Pre-ride check — tyre pressures, fluids, visual once-over before you collect.
  • Transport at the start and end — see the transport service for collection/delivery pricing.

Coverage — anywhere in mainland UK

Storage lives at Uffington. Collection runs anywhere on the mainland through the Transport service. Most storage customers don’t live near Oxfordshire — that’s the whole point. We collect from Edinburgh, Penzance, Cardiff or Norwich on the postcode’s scheduled day, and we re-deliver to wherever you tell us when you want the bike back.

Coverage detail by country:

Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and parts of the Highlands & Islands beyond Inverness are by arrangement on a separate quote.

Common questions about motorbike storage

How secure is the storage? Indoor unit, hard floor, locked external doors, alarm armed when unstaffed, CCTV across the bays. The building and our liability are covered by our commercial insurance. Your bike should stay on your own policy — laid-up cover from a UK motorcycle insurer is usually inexpensive.

Can I access my bike during storage? Yes — by appointment, during office hours (Mon–Fri 8am–6pm, Sat 9am–1pm). Book a visit through the customer dashboard or email and we’ll have the bike out for the slot. By-appointment access is what keeps the unit insurable and your bike actually secure.

Is the storage heated? Indoor and dehumidified, not actively heated. The combination is what matters for bikes — humidity is the enemy of chrome and aluminium, not winter air temperature.

Do you offer winter storage? Yes — November to March is the busiest stretch. Most winter customers book transport collection in early November and re-delivery on the first dry weekend in spring. Add trickle-charging so the bike starts first time.

Do I have to commit to a minimum term? The first 4 weeks are paid upfront at booking. After that you’re billed every 4 weeks via Stripe Subscription. Cancel anytime with one collection-day cycle of notice and we’ll arrange the re-delivery.

Can you collect and re-deliver? Yes — that’s the standard setup. The Transport service handles the collection and the re-delivery; storage is the bit in the middle. One booking covers the lot.

Do you charge the battery while my bike is stored? Trickle-charging is an add-on. We strongly recommend it for anything over a month — it’s the difference between a bike that starts first time and a battery you’ll need to replace.

Is my bike insured while it’s with you? Our policy covers the building and our liability as the storage operator. Your bike needs to remain on your own insurance — laid-up cover is the cheapest option for a stored bike.

Can you do basic checks before I collect? Yes — tyre pressures, fluid levels and a visual once-over are available as a pre-ride check add-on. We’re not a workshop, so anything beyond that we’ll point you at a local specialist.

What if I never come back for it? Long-stored bikes that go silent on payment terms become a complicated conversation. Our contract sets out the steps if a subscription lapses and we can’t reach the owner. In practice this almost never happens — but it’s covered.
